In 2022 The Martis Fund committed a total of $2,484,600 through 10 grants, to nine regional non-profits. One grant was awarded for open space conservation, one for workforce housing and eight grants were dedicated to organizations executing habitat and forest restoration work.
In 2022 $200,000 was committed to Truckee Donner Land Trust for the Pole Creek land acquisition.
Eight qualified organizations were awarded a total of $2,234,600 to perform habitat and forest restoration work in the region. Truckee River Watershed Council received the largest commitment, a three year grant totaling $1,377,000.
North Lake Tahoe Truckee Homeless Services was received $50,000 in 2022, to provide emergency housing and support services to community members without shelter.
$2,234,600 was granted to habitat and forest restoration and management projects in 2022, this represents 90% of all funds committed to grantees in 2022.
$50,000 was awarded in workforce housing grants, constituting 2% of all granted funds for the year.
$200,000 or 8% of all funds granted for the year, were dedicated to open space conservation.
The Martis Fund has partnered with Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation to fund “The Nature Fund” since 2009. In 2022 The Martis Fund contributed $70,000. to the fund.
Below are a list of the nonprofit organizations that received grants, the amount they received and their outcomes.
THE MARTIS FUND COMMITTED $1,350,000 TO THE DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IN 2022. SIERRA BUSINESS COUNCIL FACILITATED FOUR LOANS TO QUALIFYING HOME BUYERS IN 2022. ALL LOANS CLOSED IN THE 4TH QUARTER. TWO LOANS WERE FOR PROPERTIES IN HOPKINS VILLAGE.
In 2020 The Martis Fund committed a total of $3,640,500 in grant funds. $1,508,000 funded habitat and forest restoration and management projects; $27,500 to open space conservation; and $2,105,000 to workforce housing.
The Martis Fund granted a total of $8,668,249 in 2021. $6,000,000 in open space funds was granted for the Canyon Springs land acquisition. An additional $650,749 was committed to habitat restoration work and $2,017,500 was awarded to workforce housing.
In 2022 a total of $2,484,600 in grant funds were committed; $200,000 was dedicated to open space; $50,000 to workforce housing; and $2,234,600 to habitat restoration projects.
